It's got one of those Orwellian names ... it sounds good, but it is dangerous to your liberty.
It is called the "Stop Online Piracy Act" or SOPA (the U.S. Senate version is "Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act" or PIPA).
Communicate with your U.S. Representatives and Senators and tell them that you oppose this overreaching legislation. It's easy HERE.
PIPA is scheduled to be brought up for a vote in the U.S. Senate in January 2012.
SOPA is supposed to be brought before U.S. House Judiciary committee in January 2012.
