Earthside Comments: The contempt of the Bush regime for constitutional processes is evident in its outright disdain and defiance for Congressional oversight. The whole notion of 'checks and balances' is predicated on the concept that each branch has separate responsibilites and serve as a check on the power of the other branches. But, the Bushites maintain that they do not have to be subject to any checks, thus, the spread of tyranny, an executive with no accountability.
If the Bushites have nothing to hide, why don't they release all the documents and let everyone testify?
Of course, they DO have something to hide. The reason why Bush does not want the Senate investigating the executive branch's response to Hurricane Katrina is because, as the report from ABC News shows -- big surpise -- Bush is a LIAR.

Documents released today by Congress show that two days before Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, the White House received detailed damage forecasts from Homeland Security officials predicting that the city's levees might be overtopped or breached. Yet in the days after the storm struck on Aug. 29, federal officials, including President Bush, said the levee breaches could not have been foreseen.
